Latham & Watkins has raided US rival Howrey for two competition partners from its Brussels office.
Howard Rosenblatt and Bruno Lebrun will both join Latham’s Brussels office as partners, taking partner headcount in the Brussels competition team to nine.
Howrey is one of the few US firms widely considered to have expertise in EU competition law.
Rosenblatt is US-qualified but has particular experience of Article 82, or abuse of dominant position, cases in Europe. His clients include ICI, Intel and Sun Microsystems.
Said Latham’s Brussels managing partner Andreas Weitbrecht: “Howard’s extensive transatlantic experience will be an important strategic fit for our practice, and will complement our European expertise on what are increasingly internationalized competition issues.”
Howrey still has 15 Brussels-based partners, 13 of whom are antitrust specialists, including Michael Schuette who came from Freshfields last year.
