In brief: Mathews and Sayer's joint election ticket

Michael Mathews and Robert Sayer, respectively vice-president and deputy vice-president of the Law Society, have announced that they will stand on the same ticket if this summer's presidential election is contested. In a joint statement they said: “For the last nine months we have worked together and we intend to continue to do so. Success is more likely if all those who share that goal co-operate, rather than through another bout of destructive in-fighting.” Last week The Lawyer revealed that Michael Napier and David McIntosh were considering standing.
