Doughty Street Chambers, the specialist civil liberties set led by Geoffrey Robertson QC, has expanded to a third building following the appointment of a new administrator and other staff.
The set has now acquired 50 Doughty Street in addition to its main premises at number 11 and part of number 17. The new building has wheelchair facilities and four dedicated conference rooms.
The move follows the appointment of Sam Watson, formerly of the pressure group Liberty, who takes up the new post of administrator in September.
Practice manager Christine Kings commented: "Sam will take a good deal of administrative work off me, which means I can concentrate more on strategic management."
Doughty Street Chambers is one of the best-known civil liberties and human rights sets in the UK. Tenants include QCs Helena Kennedy, Sir Louis Blom-Cooper and Peter Thornton, and former Brent law centre campaigner Kate Markus.
