Bristows has ramped up its partnership with the promotion of two associates.

The IP firm has elevated Andy Bowler and Liz Cohen to partner level in a move that marks the continuation of a restructuring process following an unceremonious five-partner exodus last year.

Cohen is an expert in patent litigation, biotechnology and healthcare regulatory issues, while Bowler specialises in contentious IP matters, with particular emphasis on patents and trademarks.

Patent litigators Tim Powell, Penny Gilbert, Simon Ayrton, Zoe Butler and Alex Wilson stunned Bristows by leaving to set up Powell Gilbert in March 2007.
