Muckle” />Halliwells has poached Neil Wilson, currently head of construction at Newcastle firm Robert Muckle, to kick-start the development of a PFI practice.

Wilson, who is dual-qualified in England and Scotland, has 10 years of PFI experience. As well as heading Robert Muckle’s construction practice, Wilson has been a partner at Scottish construction firm MacRoberts and worked in-house at a professional indemnity insurer specialising in architects and engineers.

He will join Halliwells’ in Manchester in May, but is expected to work across the firm’s Northern offices together with other members of the construction department.

The appointment of Wilson follows September’s hire of former DLA partner David Fearon to launch a construction team in Halliwells’ Sheffield office.

Paul Rose, a construction partner at Halliwells, said that PFI was an area the firm was looking to develop. He added that Wilson’s experience would help drive the practice forward.

Halliwells managing partner Ian Austin said: “He’s got the experience to help us develop our capability in this area.”
