Scottish firm Balfour & Manson Solicitors has appointed four new partners as of 4 April 2005 and leading personal injury partner, Fred Tyler, has taken over as chairman.
Lisa Gregory now heads the Aberdeen office, having joined the firm in May 2004 from Burnside Kemp Fraser where she practised for eight years. She is a pursuer, (plaintiff lawyer), specialising in personal injury and medical negligence.
” I moved to Balfour & Manson after Burnside Kemp Fraser merged with defendant firm Simpson Marwick, as I would have had to do defendant work. At Balfour I can continue to do plaintiff work and have recently had a lot of interesting claims against GP’s and gynaecologists,” Gregory said.
The three new partners in the Edinburgh office are Angela Alexander, family law specialist; Fiona Muirs personal injury and judicial review lawyer; and John Leyden residential property lawyer.
Fred Tyler said: “These appointments reflect three of our key growth specialist areas: litigation, family law and residential property. We are particularly proud to note that our partnership, which has expanded rapidly in the last 12 months, now has equal female and male partners in contrast with figures recently highlighted by the Law Society.”
