Poor old Taylor Wessing. Every time it comes up against Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) it seems to lose out. First DWS raids Taylor Wessing’s IP practice – not once, but twice – taking five lawyers, including Citigroup relationship partner John Linneker. Then, to add insult to injury, it beats Taylor Wessing 3-1 at footy in the London Legal League. It’s enough to have you crying into your IT outsourcing contract.
And the Taylor Wessing material doesn’t stop there. Last week’s diary story about the firm’s role in Roman Polanski’s Oliver Twist got at least one other Paris-based lawyer hot under the collar. Nicholas Dalton, name partner of freshly minted French media and entertainment boutique Daltons, called to point out that his bunch did at least as much work on the flick as Taylor Wessing and also got a credit at the end. As Michael Winner might say: “Calm down dear, it’s only a diary story.”
