Lawrence Graham has advised Grundon Waste Management on its £180m project to develop an energy-from-waste facility at Colnbrook, near Slough. Grundon’s plans for the new facility will be realised through Lakeside, a company established by Grundon, which recently became a joint venture between Grundon and Viridor Waste Management. Lakeside will build and operate the plant, with commissioning scheduled for mid-2008. Allen & Overy acted for lead arranger Bank of Ireland, while Manches was instructed by Lakeside on construction issues. Viridor was represented by in-house counsel.
