Olswang takes on IP pundits

London firm Olswang has strengthened its existing intellectual property team with the recruitment of Andrew Inglis, head of Nabarro Nathanson's IP team, and Paul Stevens, a member of his team.

They will both be partners at Olswang.

Julia Palca, head of litigation at Olswang, said: “The addition of Andrew and Paul and their expertise in areas such as patents, trademarks and designs – as well as in the 'softer' areas of IP, such as copyright and licensing – is an excellent complement to our firm.”

Olswang is advertising for several assistants to support the two new partners.

A spokesman for Nabarros said the move was the result of an ongoing strategic review of priorities within the firm.

“Andrew has developed a specialism within the new media, marketing and advertising side of intellectual property, which is better suited to Olswang's strategy as a high-profile media practice,” he said.

He stressed that Nabarros is committed to other areas of IP and retains four partners and 17 assistants in the firm's well-respected intellectual property practice.

There are no immediate plans to replace the two IP lawyers within Nabarros.
