Litigation is the most effective method of solving disputes, if a recent debate organised by the London Solicitors’ Litigation Association (LSLA) is anything to go by.

Legal challenges, advocacy and clear judgments keep the law fresh and relevant. The first two articles of this Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Special Report focus on trends in litigation and the cutting-edge issues played out in the courts at the moment.

These include transparency in the courts after the Law Society’s injunction on new rules and the legal grey area where IP rights and technology standards meet.

On the other side of the debate, the special report also examines the importance of arbitration, arguing that where you arbitrate is as important as how you arbitrate.
