LG has launched a trademark filing and prosecution practice led by Kirsten Doherty, who joins from easyGroup, where she was responsible for protecting the trademark portfolio.
Anthony Collins associate Jane Plant has joined the Birmingham office of eightmans in a boost to the firm’s social housing practice.
MFG has promoted two lawyers into its partnership. Telford-based Tom Devey has been promoted in the rural and agricultural team, while the Kidderminster corporate group has been boosted with the promotion of Alex Hall to partner. Helen Branson has become an associate, also at Kidderminster.
Yorkshire firm Lupton Fawcett has hired Denison Till partner Andrew Lindsay as a director in its corporate and commercial department. He was previously head of the corporate group at his former firm and is currently a director of the Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce. In addition, the firm has re-elected Richard Marshall as its managing director following an uncontested election.
Sheffield patent and trademark specialist Withers & Rogers has made a trio of new appointments. Partner John-Paul Rooney has joined from Appleyard Lees, where he was a senior associate, and the firm has also made up two of its own lawyers to partner. Joanna Westwood and Matthew Howell will augment the life sciences and chemistry, and electronics, computing and physics groups respectively.
Manchester firm Gunnercooke has recruited Anna Gregory as a corporate partner. Gregory joins from Enterprise where she advised on M&A transactions. She will continue to work with the company as an external adviser.
Swansea firm JCP has appointed its chief executive Hayley Davies as a full equity partner.
It is believed to be one of the first non-lawyer promotions to the equity partnership in Swansea, and one of only a handful in Wales.
French firm August & Debouzy has hired Cyril Klajer as an of counsel to lead its multidisciplinary team advising companies on staff and executive transfers. The group includes lawyers from the tax, employment and social security practices. Klajer joins from Fidal.
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has hired a four-partner project finance team from Chadbourne & Parke. The group, led by practice co-heads Edward Zaelke and Adam Umanoff, will work out of the Los Angeles office. The other new partners are Thomas Dupuis and Lloyd MacNeil.
