The long-awaited test case in which a group of ex-smokers suffering from cancer is suing tobacco manufacturers, is now en route to the High Court. Leigh Day & Co has launched the action on behalf of 12 ex-smokers from the UK against Imperial Tobacco and Gallagher. It seeks compensation for each claimant in respect of personal injury blamed on the tobacco companies.
