Independent French firm JeantetAssociés has picked up the remaining Coudert Brothers partner in Paris in a bid to broaden its international coverage.
Jonathan Wohl joined Jeantet’s corporate team earlier this month after 27 years at Coudert’s Paris office. His appointment comes after the hire of six French Coudert partners by Dechert in September, followed by the move of corporate partner Pascale Gros to De Pardieu Brocas Maffei in October.
US-born Wohl said: “After so many years in Paris, I thought I could be more valuable at a French firm which wanted to expand its international representation.”
Wohl’s practice focuses on international transactions for French and US clients, especially in the media, technology and aerospace sectors. At Jeantet he will work with the firm’s small New York office to improve the service offered to international clients.
“New York is important because it shows a commitment to managing and developing relationships with clients in the US,” Wohl said.
He added that he was attracted by Jeantet’s dynamic approach, saying: “Jeantet is filled with some very brilliant people. There’s a very high level of knowledge here.”
