Ball ploy

Being stuck in an office over the summer break, good for your future career as it may be, is not the most appealing way to spend the warm months. At least Nabarro Nathanson has been rewarded for its efforts to make it that little bit easier to handle.

The firm won the Freebie of the Year Award, presented by the Oxford University Law Society, for the bright-orange beach balls handed out at law fairs to promote its summer vacation scheme.

The firm takes three lots of 65 students for three weeks over the summer. The places are highly coveted, with more than 90 per cent of participants coming out of the programme in training contracts.
