LONDON firms Nabarro Nathanson and Turner Kenneth Brown are set to start the week as a newly-merged firm.
The name of the bigger practice will be Nabarro Nathanson.
In terms of size, it will be at least joint 10th with Herbert Smith in The Lawyer Top 100, but could even push the big City litigator down to eleventh place.
The firms were expected to finalise the deal at the weekend by signing the agreement, which would combine the two practices. It is understood that the signing was subject to certain conditions, however.
It is thought that the outstanding liabilities of the old TKB firm, which ceased to trade after 30 April 1994, have been settled.
But conditions may make a decision on the future of TKB's two existing London properties in Fetter Lane and Norwich Street on the edge of the City.
It is understood a transfer of TKB staff from Fetter Lane to Stratton Street will take around three months.
