Baker & McKenzie ramps up in Indonesia

New partner hire signals capital markets push

Baker & McKenzie’s Indonesian office Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners (HHP) has poached capital market specialist Rambun Tjajo, the managing partner of local firm Bahar, Tjajo & Partners.

Tjajo, who had been a name partner at Bahar, Tjajo & Partners since 1998 and also headed up the capital markets team, has acted on numerous high profile bonds and rights issues in the Jakartan market.

Most recently he advised on a planned bond issue of Bank Danamon Tbk, and on the bond issues of local companies Astra Sedaya Finance, and Matahari Putra Prima. Tjajo has also held positions in the Indonesian legal Aid Foundation.

His appointment takes HHP’s number of partners to 10, and the number of fee-earners in the capital markets team to 22.
