Lovells has recruited the College of Law’s Christopher Stoakes as head of legal training with the position due to be filled on 4 June.
Currently corporate relations director at the College of Law, Stoakes will replace Suzanne Fine, who has left the firm to take on the role of global head of learning and development at Linklaters.
Working alongside training partner John Trotter, Stoakes will be responsible for developing and delivering the firm’s legal training in its offices worldwide. Stoakes will be based in London, heading a team of 12 people, but will be involved with working with trainers in Asia, Europe and the US.
According to Trotter, Stoakes is ideally placed to take on the position given that he has a background in training, marketing and writing. Between 1988 and 1995 he worked at Stephenson Harwood, initially as director of marketing and later as marketing partner, and was also a faculty member at Nottingham Law School.
Stoakes was a founder member of Sherwood PSF Consulting, a management consultancy with which Lovells has worked in the past.
