Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) has promoted only 12 associates to its partnership, which is less than half the number of promotions of last year.
London benefited from 10 of the new promotions, with Dubai and Cairo bagging the remaining two. Last year the firm promoted 26 associates to the partnership.
DWS chief executive Howard Morris said: “For a firm of our size this represents yet another significant investment in our people. There’s an exciting pipeline of talent coming through the ranks and we’ll continue to nurture, reward and invest in these people.” The firm’s London corporate department saw the most promotions, with three associates being made up to the partnership, effective from 1 May.
The dispute resolution and real estate departments each saw two promotions internally, with the banking, energy and infrastructure and technology, media and telecoms departments gaining one new partner promotion each.
Last year corporate accounted for the most promotions, with eight associates being made up. This was followed by finance, which received seven new partners. The pubic law department was the least promoted area, with just one new addition.
The firm now has 173 partners.
