French independent and former DLA ally Ginestié Magellan Paley-Vincent is ramping up its new Lyon office with the hire of tax partner Rémi Gouyet from CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre.
Gouyet will be the first new partner in Lyon since Ginestié acquired Magellan’s Paris and Lyon offices earlier this year. He starts work at Ginestié today (Monday 3 October).
His hire also marks the firm’s first move into tax in the city. Gouyet’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of tax law.
Managing partner Françoise Ciaudo-Ginestié said the firm had known Gouyet for some years and that his hire would boost Ginestié’s general tax knowledge across France.
Ginestié acts for small corporations and management boards across the corporate spectrum. It has presences in Milan and London, as well as Paris and Lyon. The firm merged with Magellan (formerly Mazars & Associés) in February.
Gouyet is Ginestié’s fourth Lyon-based partner, joining corporate specialist Pierre-Henri Michaud and employment and commercial experts Frédéric Renaud and Jean-Yves Fleurance.
Ginestié split from the DLA alliance in July 2004 ahead of DLA’s merger with Piper Rudnick Gray Cary. Piper Rudnick signed up Ho-gan & Hartson’s Paris office, Cariddi Mee Rue, leaving DLA’s French firm Ginestié out in the cold. Ginestié is fiercely independent and had been resistant to attempts to integrate the firm with DLA.
