DLA Piper loses China specialist to Katten

US firm Katten Muchin Rosenman has hired a DLA Piper corporate partner in Chicago to lead its China practice.

Feng Xue joined Katten this week after two years at DLA Piper. He has previously worked with several other well-known firms in Shanghai, Beijing and Chicago including Altheimer & Gray and Bell Boyd and Lloyd, where he was a partner and head of the firm’s China and Asia practice.

Xue, a native Mandarin speaker, is best known for China foreign direct investment, private equity and M&A and will spend much of his time at Katten working in China and throughout Asia.

Prior to attending law school and going into private practice in the US, Xue worked as a senior legislative officer for the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Chinese National People’s Congress, where he was involved in drafting numerous Chinese national legislations.

A DLA Piper spokesman said: “We wish him well.”
