Tulkinghorn thought hunky actor Brendan Fraser had enough on his hands rubbing shoulders with Michael Caine in The Quiet American and fighting off the bad guys in The Mummy Returns. But no. Not satisfied with life as an international film star, Fraser has been filling his free time by masquerading as a Memery Crystal corporate finance partner. Going by the name of Alex Read, Fraser's swashbuckling looks have won him a growing fan base in London legal circles. Apparently, he has always had a soft spot for England ever since a childhood holiday when he saw a West End matinee of Oliver. Memery Crystal's offices are, of course, conveniently situated for theatreland.
DJ Freeman partner to head up IP for Manches
Manches has boosted its IP department with the appointment of DJ Freeman partner Alex Carter-Silk (left) to its technology and media practice. He will be joined at Manches by his trademark attorney Gary Tarrant. Carter-Silk, previously head of the intellectual property law group at DJ Freeman, will start at Manches on 24 March.
