Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has swooped on Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft for two structured finance partners, including the high-profile James Croke, for its New York office.
Croke and Peter Manbeck join as partners. They are the firm’s sixth and seventh partner hires in New York in the last three months, as first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (28 June). Both are structured finance specialists with broad experience, including asset-backed commercial paper and collateralised debt obligations.
Croke is particularly well known. He headed Cadwalader’s London capital markets group from 1999 to 2004 and built a successful practice following the departure of a number of key partners, including John Walker to Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy.
