Clifford Chance has picked its first people partner to help drive forward the firm’s HR policy as well having overall responsibility for career development.
New York employment partner Blair Soyster will take up her new full time global role from September. She will report to the managing partner David Childs.
Childs said: “We believe that developing our people is one of the firm’s most important priorities. A people partner will help push forward our plans for aligning HR policies globally and co-ordinating our work on issues such as career development, mobility of lawyers and business services people around the network, and ensuring that we develop and retain our people.”
Earlier this year the magic circle firm announced that it had appointed its first global learning and development partner in a bid to develop and streamline the firm’s legal and business services training programmes.
Former private equity partner Julia Clarke took up the role. She is responsible for the development of legal and business skills training for fee-earners and business skills training for business services staff.
