The hire of Dominique Bompoint by Sullivan & Cromwell’s Paris office rocked the French market in November 2004. But Bompoint is no stranger to making a splash, having moved just three years previously from Bredin Prat to Clifford Chance.
Bompoint wins enormous praise for his corporate work, which most notably has included acting for the French government in the restructuring of Alstom in 2003. Indeed, he has been described as the most talented French lawyer of his generation.
His appointment is a massive boost for Sullivan’s growing European presence, and should mean the firm’s profile will grow significantly over the next year. Look out for Bompoint’s name in big deals to come.
