What was your first-ever job?
Saturday shop assistant at JD Sports in Manchester.
What was your worst experience as a trainee?
Being sent out of a meeting to move my supervising partner’s sports car to avoid getting a parking ticket and bunny-hopping past Slaughter and May.
What do you do at weekends?
Laundry, catch up with friends and family, drive children to parties and sporting activities and help with homework.
I am currently majoring in verbal reasoning using past papers in anticipation of 13+ exams.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
The Landing on Harbour Island in the Bahamas.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what or who would you have been?
What’s your favourite film?
Top Gun or a 1970s James Bond – probably Live and Let Die.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Rio by Duran Duran.
Who’s your hero and why?
My boys – it’s tough being a kid these days and they are learning to take everything life throws at them.
What’s the toughest thing about the job?
The work-life balance and the unpredictable nature of transactional work.
What’s your work/biggest career mistake and what did you learn from it?
My biggest mistake is not learning to delegate sooner. Having a great team makes life a lot easier.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what two luxury items would you take?
My iPad and a Nespresso coffee machine.
If a movie was being made about your life who would you like to play you?
Claire Danes. Apart from the fact she is gorgeous, she would bring all her brilliant Homeland dramatic reactions to the highs and lows of my everyday life.
What book are you reading?
Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan on my Kindle.
What car do you drive?
I drive an Audi RS6, but not like I have just stolen it, which irritates my husband.

As a trainee I was once invited to “take tea” by one of the Masters in Court; I can’t cook; I am simply brilliant at karaoke.
