Bird & Bird bolsters Milan with two new practices

Bird & Bird has bolted on two new practice areas to its fledgling Italian practice, with the hire of specialists in both employment and financial services.
Caterina Rucci joins from Italian firm Abbatescianni e Associati with a team of two others to launch an employment practice, while Raimondo Maggiore comes from the investment management office of Consob, the Italian Security Commission, to head financial services. Both join as senior associates.
Since it opened in Milan in February, the Bird & Bird office has grown from seven to 18 lawyers. It was launched by Massimiliano Mostardini, the former technology, media and telecoms head of Ernst & Young’s Italian legal arm.
