Olswang is continuing its real estate expansion by boosting its planning and regeneration practice with a new head of planning recruited from Speechly Bircham.

Richard Keczkes will join Olswang on 1 November, replacing associate and head of planning Alison Askwith, who will remain at Olswang as part of a larger team that will include two senior associates, one consultant and one trainee.

Keczkes said: “It will be more of the same plus more that’s higher quality and bigger ticket.”

Keczkes had been at Speechly for just 18 months; his key work included acting for P&O and Scottish Widows on compulsory purchase order work at the London 2012 Olympics site. Before joining Speechly he was at Nabarro for nine years.

Speechly will replace Keczkes with Eversheds associate Clare Prior, who joins the firm in January 2008 as a partner and head of planning and environment.
