Gambling company bets on Klegal

The company is backed by Kirsch Media, whose head of legal Alex Wade instructed KLegal’s Mark Haftke and Philip Daniels on behalf of Gig.
KLegal has just completed Gig’s first major deal, which consisted of an agreement with broadcaster Telewest to launch the betting service on its interactive television channel. Telewest was represented by Wiggin & Co.
“Gig is just the sort of client our team specialises in serving,” said Haftke, head of e-business and digital media at KLegal. “It’s a real feather in the cap for the team here.”
Haftke and his team act for a number of internet clients, many of which followed him from his old firm, Bird & Bird, which he left last year. Among them are Poptel, Dot TV and e-tailer ThinkNatural. He also works for Sony, which was previously his biggest client at Bird & Bird.
