Dickson Minto has raided Scottish rival Shepherd + Wedderburn for a rare lateral hire.
The corporate boutique has poached rated commercial property partner Ewan Sherrif for its Edinburgh office.
Sherrif is only the second lateral hire Dickson Minto has ever made. Four years ago, the firm took on its only female partner Fiona Acres from McGrigor Donald.
Dickson Minto has just one property partner, Philip Andersen. It is understood that the firm wanted additional capacity and cover for Andersen.
Shepherd + Wedderburn has a large property department with 11 partners including Sherrif, who declined to comment.
Dickson Minto announced the closure of its Glasgow outpost last week, as revealed by Lawyer News Weekly. The Anglo-Scottish firm will formally close at the end of April.
Glasgow partner Keith Anderson, lawyers and support staff have been offered posts in London and Edinburgh.
