Times really must be tough at poor old Norton Rose. Litigation partner James Bagge, clearly strapped for cash, has headed off on his summer holiday bound not for Belize or Cannes, but the dusty trails of Spain.
Bagge is setting out on a one-month walking tour to Santiago de Compostela. Apparently, even modern day pilgrims are supposed to beg for food and shelter. They carry nothing but a cake of soap. Not even a Blackberry: how will the poor modern lawyer survive?
Maybe it’s the three days of free food at the end of the trip that is driving Bagge ever onwards. Maybe it’s the elusive search for the Holy Grail – aka Norton Rose’s profits. Donations of Imperial Leather can be sent to Kempson House.
