THE MURDER of Rosemary Nelson was wicked and tragic. It was unfortunate, therefore, that you should accuse the Royal Ulster Constabulary of harassment without providing evidence to support the allegation (The Lawyer, 22 March).
Scores of RUC officers, prison officers and judges have died in upholding the rule of law in Northern Ireland over the past 30 years. The greatest threat to the rule of law continues to come from the terrorist groups, which have carried out hundreds of savage beatings, and in some cases killings, since the Belfast Agreement was signed a year ago.
