Allegations substantiated he failed or failed with reasonable expedition to respond to enquiry addressed to him by former client’s new solicitors and failed or failed with reasonable expedition to respond to Solicitors Complaints Bureau correspondence.
John Frederick McGlashan, 42, admitted 1978, practised as equity partner with Colin Watson Warrington, struck off and ordered to pay £1,226 costs. Allegations substantiated he failed to pay client money into client account, wrongly withdrew client account money, failed to ensure accounting records and books showed all dealings with client money, dishonestly, fraudulently, or improperly used client money for his own purposes, retained Green Form contributions received from clients, brought his partners in breach of accounting rules.
Stephen Patrick Hogan, 42, admitted 1991, practised as Hogan-Boyd, Bognor Regis, struck off and ordered to pay £5,816 costs. Allegations substantiated he wrongly drew and used client funds for his purposes, made or caused to be made false entries in books of account and false entries on file documents with view to concealing matters involving above allegations.
John Francis McCarthy, admitted 1984, practised as McCarthy Warrington, Cheshire, suspended indefinitely and ordered to pay £2,833 costs. Allegations substantiated he unreasonably delayed conduct of professional business, failed to reply promptly or at all to correspondence from clients and failed to reply to correspondence from Solicitors Complaints Bureau. Tribunal told McCarthy’s activities led to claims of £2,775 against Compensation Fund.
