Coudert Brothers has poached capital markets specialist Serge Durox from the Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP).
Durox, former head of the legal department at BNP's London office, will be working principally in Couderts' London and Paris offices and will help develop the firm's derivatives practice in France.
He will also work on convertible bonds issues and commodity swaps, and development projects in Russia and other emerging markets.
Durox, who is already working with clients on documenting emerging market transactions, said he would be working closely with Couderts' Paris, London, Moscow and New York-based lawyers on a range of finance projects.
Steven Beharrell, managing partner of the London office, said: “Serge Durox's arrival is timely. Our capital markets and structured finance work in Europe, Asia and the CIS continues to develop and Serge will bring some of the latest thinking on developing products for these markets. Durox's BNP post has been filled internally by Paul Williams.
