Job fears as Eversheds shuts down Home2Home

Eversheds is shutting its Manchester-based residential conveyancing unit Home2Home, after deciding to stop residential conveyancing

The unit's main client was building society Bradford & Bingley.
The decision leaves 23 jobs hanging in the balance, but the firm states it is “going through a consultation process” with the Home2Home employees.
Home2Home employs two solicitors. The rest of the staff are a mixture of fee-earning paralegals and administrators.
A firm spokesperson said: “Home2Home will shut with effect from the end of February. The firm is hoping to re-employ all of the staff.”
Eversheds did not confirm whether any redundancies would be made.
Home2Home is run by Leeds-based partner Peter Wordsworth, head of Eversheds' national recoveries group. Wordsworth was unavailable for comment.
