Wiberforce Chambers announced this week that two silks are joining it.
Terence Mowschenson QC and Michael Bloch QC move from One Essex Court, capping a bad month for the top commercial set. Last week, Jeffrey Gruder QC left One Essex Court for Essex Court Chambers.
Mowschenson is known for his arbitration work and has experience of banking, corporate insolvency and commercial work.
Bloch, an IT and IP expert, says of his move: “My practice will fit in well.”
The Wilberforce moves are seen as a major boost for Edward Nugee's chambers, which has gained a reputation as an aggressive player in the market for top barristers.
Chambers spokeswoman Suzanne Cosgrave says Wilberforce has “a strategic aim to grow by recruiting barristers of high calibre”.
Wilberforce has 37 barristers, including 14 silks. A total of 14 barristers have joined the chambers since 1997.
