Shearman’s three musketeers target Asia, Europe, US finance clients

Shearman & Sterling has reorganised its global financial institutions practice with the appointment of three local partners to coordinate an attack on financial institutions in Asia, Europe and the US respectively.

Hong Kong partner Matthew Bersani will be responsible for developing the Asian financial institutions business while New York partner William Hirschberg will coordinate Shearman’s US financial institutions clients.

European head of capital markets Stephan Hutter, who is based in the firm’s Frankfurt office, takes on management of the European financial institutions business. He said: “The people in every jurisdiction work hard to do the best job possible for clients, but may not necessarily think that in other jurisdictions other people are also talking to the same large global and regional banks.”
