Taylor Wessing has entered redundancy consultations with four lawyers and two secretaries in its real estate department.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “We will over the next two weeks be discussing the process with them and trying to identify alternatives to redundancy before we reach a point of making final decisions”.
She added: “If redundancies are confirmed we will be offering packages that exceed statutory entitlement, which are based on length of service and actual pay, rather than the capped statutory amounts.”
The firm would not comment further until after the consultation process was completed.
The London real estate team has 14 partners and 32 associates. Real estate made up 15 per cent of UK turnover at the firm last year (TheLawyer.com, 24 October).
