Tulkinghorn has uncovered a dastardly family plot to take over Freshfields.

The firm has called in consulting giant McKinsey to look at its finance practice – and McKinsey is headed up by none other than Ian Davis, one of the four ultra-high-achieving Davis brothers.

Ian’s brother James is no slouch either. He’s a Freshfields corporate partner with an iron grip on the coveted CVC relationship. A third brother heads up publisher Reed Elsevier and a fourth is a High Court judge.

If McKinsey recommends that Freshfields’ finance practice focus on publishing in the litigation sector, we’ll all know it’s a stitch-up.
