2 Harcourt recruits academics to bolster environment team

Public and planning law set 2 Harcourt Buildings is forming a new five-strong academic panel to add extra depth to the services it offers.

The panel’s focus is predominantly environmental law. It will comprise Dr Aine Ryall of University College, Cork; Bill Sheate, a Reader in environmental sciences at Imperial College London; Professor Victor Moore, formerly of Reading University; human rights expert Dr Maria Lee of King’s College London; and Dr Andrea Biondi, director of the school of European law at King’s. Biondi is already an academic member of the set.

The move comes as experts’ opinions become increasingly important in litigation and arbitration.

Chambers head Robin Purchas QC said the panel would enable the set to exchange ideas on legal developments in its areas of expertise.
