The legal profession’s first battle of the bands is being launched this summer, dubbed Law Rocks, and will take place at London’s legendary 100 Club – a venue that has hosted bands including the Sex Pistols and Van Morrison.

The competition, which is the brainchild of Keating Chambers senior clerk Nick Child and backed by The Lawyer, will pit six groups against each other on Thursday 18 June: Addleshaw Goddard, Berwin Leighton Paisner, CMS Cameron McKenna, Keating Chambers, Lovells and Nabarro.

Each gets a half-hour spot to impress and the winners get the profits of the evening to donate to charity.

Child said: “This is not for people who can listen to the William Tell Overture and not think of the Lone Ranger. This is for people whose musical career was interrupted by a legal career.”

Over the coming weeks The Lawyer will be profiling the bands but for more information see TheLawyer.com and LawRocks.com.
