Howard Kennedy to gain in travel sector slump

Howard Kennedy is set to benefit from the travel sector downturn.

It intends to create a two-partner employment department serving mainly travel agent and airline clients. New head of employment Andrea Nicholls has been brought in from Speechley Bircham to develop the firm's corporate employment practice.
Of the new department's 20-30 freestanding employment clients, Nicholls said that a “substantial amount” belong to the travel sector. Nicholls insists that the department was not set up to trade on the travel sector downturn and that the practice will also do well during an economic boom.
“In more buoyant times we deal with senior appointments and golden handshakes. Now it's contract variations and terminations,” she said.
