In brief: Attorney General makes appointments

Attorney General John Morris QC has appointed 6 King's Bench Walk barrister Nigel Sweeney to represent the Government in cases at the Central Criminal Court. Sweeney will succeed David Calvert-Smith QC as First Senior Treasury Counsel, as tradition dictates he steps down on taking silk. William Boyce and John Kelsey-Fry become Senior Treasury Counsel while 3 Hare Court barrister Brian Altman and 2 Harcourt Buildings' Aftab Jafferjee are appointed as junior treasury Counsel.
