US firm Weil Gotshal & Manges has lost the head of its Supreme Court and appellate litigation group who founded the firm’s Austin office.
Greg Coleman has left Weil to join litigation boutique Yetter & Warden in Houston, where he will start up that firm’s first appellate team. Coleman has a longstanding relationship with name partners Paul Yetter and David Warden, whose 22-lawyer firm concentrates on business and technology litigation.
Coleman started up the Austin office for Weil in February 2003 with four other lawyers, moving from Houston to do so. After Coleman’s departure Weil is left with 12 lawyers, including just one partner, patent litigator Kevin Kudlac. There are also four lawyers who practise in the appellate team that was headed by Coleman.
In all Weil has 100 Texas-based lawyers across its offices in Houston, Dallas and Austin.
