Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is set to boost its London arbitration practice by bringing its three big-hitting stars to the capital.
New York-based partner Nigel Rawding is expected to be the first of the trio to head to London in April, with Amsterdam-based partner Brian King moving back in the summer.
Global head of arbitration Jan Paulsson said: “London is the world’s leading arbitration centre and, given the depth of our practice, it made sense to make sure we had a greater firefighting practice in the capital.”
French partner Constantine Partasides will also be moving back to London, most likely at the end of the summer (The Lawyer, 30 October 2006).
The moves come as Freshfields wants to send a signal to clients that it is committed to London, with Paris and the UK’s capital city both acting equally as the axes of the firm’s international arbitration group.
