US firm Crowell & Moring has beefed up its New York office with the addition of three partners from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney.
The Washington DC-based firm hired partners William O’Connor, Robert Frucht and Evelyn Seeler for its financial services and debt department. O’Connor will lead the creditors’ rights team, which represents leading financial institutions in a range of disciplines, such as litigation, loan workouts, bankruptcies, restructurings and debt portfolio acquisitions. The three partners have also been joined by four legal counsel from Buchanan – Douglas Arntsen, Timothy Fierst, Prassana Mahadeva and James Maisano – as well as associate Jamie Krapf. The New York office of Crowell, which opened five months ago, boasts Lehman Brothers, Silver Point Capital, UBS and Wachovia Bank as major clients.
