Berrymans Lace Mawer and Jacksons are the two firms appointed by Iron Trades to help narrow down its insurance panel.
Last week The Lawyer revealed that the insurance giant had already cut down its 40-strong panel by half and was taking advice from two “mystery” firms.
David Evans, senior partner at Berrymans' Liverpool office, has since confirmed that both firms have been appointed to the panel. “We are obviously very pleased. Iron Trades is an exceptionally important client for us,” he says.
Evans led the team on the tender alongside John Henthorn, a senior litigation partner in Manchester, and Terry Renouf, a senior litigation partner in the London office.
Chris Gannon, a partner in Jacksons' personal litigation department, confirms that the firm is on Iron Trades' panel and working on the review.
He admits: “We are advising Iron Trades on developing the final review of the panel.”
Ashton West, general manager of claims at Iron Trades, confirms that both firms have been appointed to the panel. “We are very pleased to have them advising us on developing the criteria for the final selections to the panel,” he says.
