Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw (MBRM) and Davenport Lyons have scooped roles advising on Entertainment One’s acquisition of the Contender Entertainment Group. The deal is for a total consideration of £49.4m, payable by the issue of 7.4 million ordinary shares in Entertainment One and £42m in cash. MBRM is advising Entertainment One on the deal, with a team led by corporate partners Robert Hamill and Lauri-Lynn Pursall. The firm previously represented Marwyn Investment Management on its acquisition and listing of Entertainment One. Davenport corporate partner Jeanette Gregson led the team representing Contender, a UK media company.
