Richard Creamer continues to get his teeth into legal practice following his promotion
to partner in the dental team at Hempsons.

Originally a dentist, Creamer is now filling his time as a solicitor, for which he later qualified. Hempsons, a health and social care specialist firm with offices in London, Manchester, Harrogate and Newcastle, has made up a further three partners and hired one across the UK, bringing its partner count to 50: Miriam Farley in London, Paul Hardy in Manchester and Helen Freeman in Harrogate all make the cut. Fiona McClellan also joins the London employment team from Field Fisher Waterhouse, where she was a partner.
Financial services lawyer Caitriona Whelan has joined the London office of McClure Naismith as an associate from Monex Financial Services, where she was in-house counsel.
Gates and Partners has hired Jeremy Robinson as head of its competition practice from Bird & Bird, where he was a senior European consultant. The firm has also recruited Sprecher Grier Halberstam partner Alok Gangola for its corporate finance department, as well as former Olswang chief financial officer Frans Post, who joins in the same role following a period as an independent consultant.
Sprecher Grier Halberstam has promoted employment associate and charities team head Helen Crossland to the partnership.
Media specialist Sheridans has hired solicitor John Haggis for its interactive media team from New Media Law.
Colemans-ctts has made a number of internal promotions in its personal injury team. Senior associate Claire Roantree is made up to partner in the Kingston upon Thames office. Charles O’Brien, also in Kingston, is promoted to senior associate, while Dorothy Purday is promoted to senior associate in the Cockfosters office.
Taylor Walton has hired SA Law insolvency associate Guy Thomas as a partner. Corporate transaction lawyer Kate Stevenson joins the firm as a lawyer after a period away from practising; she was previously at Slaughter
and May. Both join the Luton office.
Somerset firm Pardoes has hired Maeve Vickery as a partner and head of the employment team. She joins from Battens, where she was a director and head of employment.
Yorkshire law firm Keeble Hawson has promoted Teresa Allewell to associate in the corporate team, Antony Ball in the family team and Toby Burnett in the private client team. In the personal injury team, David Eade, Claire Cooper and Clair Marlow were promoted to associate.
Chester firm Aaron & Partners has appointed chief executive Andy Duxbury as a non-lawyer partner. He has held the chief executive role since 2006.
DWF has hired Watson Burton IP partner Ed Meikle for its Newcastle office.
Leeds-based Blacks Solicitors has launched a mediation department within its family law team, appointing sole practitioner and life coach Viv Hulland to the helm.
Weightmans has hired Mugabi Turya as a solicitor in its family team from Fisher Meredith.
Druces has taken on Helen Freely as a private client partner from Ambrose Appelbe. The firm has also hired Mark Barber as a real estate consultant from Joelson Wilson.

Doughty Street Chambers has recruited terrorism, murder and fraud specialist Jon Whitfield QC for its general crime team from 15 New Bridge Street. Serious crime junior Liam Walker also joins the set from 15 New
Bridge Street. US and English law-qualified Amal Amaluddin joins the international criminal law team having finished her pupillage at Doughty Street. New associate Guénaël Mettraux also joins the international criminal law team.
