New Italian group

City firm Herbert Smith has set up an Italian practice group to deal with its “extensive” work for Italian clients. The group will provide comprehensive legal services for corporate, commercial or financial transactions and disputes, as well as to merchant banks and financial institutions involved in international transactions coming out of Italy. Chris Parsons, the corporate partner heading the new group, said: “We have long-standing experience of advising Italian clients. This group has been formally established to provide clients with a focal point for our work in this area. We are confident that there are considerable opportunities for us in this market.”
