Blake Lapthorn Linnell has completed a review of its practice groups and is introducing a series of sector teams aimed at specific industries.
The restructure sees lawyers now organised along sector lines, which include construction, charities, leisure, retail and IP/IT.
The move comes a year after the merger of Southampton-based Blake Lapthorn with Oxford’s Linnells.
Since the merger, a succession of partners have left the firm, including corporate rainmaker Sean Wright, who joined Shoosmiths’ Solent office in April.
At the same time, the firm spun off its Fareham-based children and education group, which now operates as a separate firm called The Children’s Legal Practice.
However, this year the merged firm is set to see turnover rise by some 7 per cent. Blake Lapthorn has also been appointed to the Capgemini UK IT transaction panel and won the role for Kerry Group on its £238m purchase of the ICI-owned Quest Food Ingredients Division.
